Story Behind the Art:

Shanker comes from a farming family. 'I studied till 10th grade, then went to work with my parents. My uncle was then working with a jeweler. I was always fascinated by the fancy jewelry he designed. Eventually, I quit farming and started my own small workshop, designing and crafting sterling silver jewelry. Slowly, with the help of family and friends, I established myself in the field. People in my village prefer gold, so I set up a workshop in the city.'
