Evoke the exotic with this handmade violet amethyst necklace with silver beads. This necklace features five separate strands of oval shaped amethyst stones, in tones ranging from pale lilac to deep purple, alternated with intricate silver beads. It closes with a sturdy silver lobster clasp and it measures 18 inches long.
Amethyst, or purple quartz, has been used by many cultures throughout history to make jewelry as well as other decorative and functional items. The stone has been associated with royalty in both Britain and Egypt, while in Tibet it is considered a sacred Buddha stone. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote that it was able to dispel evil thoughts and quicken the intelligence, while the ancient Greeks often carved wine goblets from amethyst, believing it to be a strong antidote to inebriation!

Stones are very deep in color. The whole necklace is well done and reasonably priced. What else is there to say.

The necklace is well made - similar tone and size stones, etc.. It has a good lengh and the multiple strands allow it to fill up the neckline of a collar-less blouse. I very much like the way it looks. Have had several compliments about it and I like the necklace so much that it makes me want to go out and buy more purple clothes so that I can wear it more often.
