Story Behind the Art:

Oriental alabaster has been crafted in Egypt since ancient times, into works of art and utilitarian items. Alabaster is found in many areas of Egypt - each quarry having slightly different geological qualities and colorations. Our artisans, despite working with limited and dated equipment, are able to turn out wonderful items, relying on their hand/eye coordination and skill.


What is Worldstock?

Alabaster products are manufactured by hand, using alabaster from every commercial quarry in Egypt. Alabaster is a natural, translucent marble which can vary in color from a clear lemon color to a rich shade of mango orange or even a very light cafe au lait. Each piece will be unique and variation from the photo should not be considered a flaw.
