In small town along the Central coast of Viet Nam, Le Anh Nguyen and a small group of artisans have been perfecting bamboo items for many years. Each piece is handcrafted using flattened strips of bamboo. Besides its beauty, there are many reasons to use bamboo. Bamboo is a truly remarkable renewable resource, with an astounding growth cycle of three to five years. Bamboo is not a wood, but actually a species of grass. Finally, bamboo offers vital economic and ecological benefits to the lives of millions of people worldwide; providing food, fuel, housing, furniture, artisan products, and soil and water conservation. We ensure that the crafts makers are paid fairly and work in safe conditions. The purchase of this product will help artisans provide food and shelter to their communities as well as generate money to put their children through school.
