The Story Behind the Product
This product was created in North Western India. Once the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40's a majority of the industries available for the local economy disappeared with them. The indigenous people went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. Several hub cities of industry have flourished, creating numerous, sustainable, and stable jobs for the people of the surrounding villages, to augment the time in between harsh growing seasons. The industry that has been created by products like this has created an unprecedented number of schools, hospitals, and improvements in infrastructure. This industry has truly created a renaissance in economic growth in the region.

I was expecting to like these, but even I was not prepared for my reaction: I loved them! I was a bit hesitant to order these at first due to some previous reviews and because they were a bit expensive, but I am so glad that I took a chance. I have been called picky, so I wasn't sure if I would be pleased or what to expect. The tables ( I got two) are very sturdy (heavy) and well-made. The teak is gorgeous and I even love the repaired nail holes from its previous life. One table was damaged in shipping in spite of the packing, but Overstock sent another out right away. I don't think you will be disappointed if you order these. I hope Overstock offers more reclaimed teak pieces.
Just received. Very pleased with this piece. Its even prettier than in the picture. Craftsmanship good and its teak! Packaging was excellent - no dents or scratches. If you are thinking of buying this dont hesitate. This is my first furniture purchase from Overstock and I am very happy.
Really beautiful. It's not cheap, but it's worth it for the beauty of the wood alone. The drawers work well, the whole thing is very simply constructed, but solid. Mine also had a nick in one corner as other reviewers mentioned, but I think this happened before shipping, as it was quite well packed with supports on the corners. The slight damage is not noticeable when in place as a bedside stand, and it doesn't bother me. I really love this table and wish there were other pieces that coordinated (other than the three drawer version). Please stock more like this, Overstock!

First, my only complaint and the reason for the 4 stars on Workmanship... the packing could have been better. I had 1 small ding on each of the 2 units I bought, both were on the bottom edge of a corner of the top, which better packing would have avoided. They weren't bad enough to go through a return, but were bad enough that if purchased in person at a furniture store, they probably would have been discounted as scratch & dents. Thankfully they aren't visible in the location I've place the tables.
Now, to the praise! I use these as night stands and LOVE them! In a compact size, you have drawers big enough for magazines or books for night time reading, small drawers for the tv, digital converter box and dvd player remotes, room for journals if you're into writing before bed, and anything else you might want handy at the bed side. They're also a great height. Not too big, not too small.... just right! Rustic enough to coordinate with our hickory log bed, but fancy enough to go with our antique dressers. A beautiful blend between the two for us And they seem well built and sturdy enough that I'm sure we'll be passing them on to our daughter some day, like after she puts us in a nursing home! :)
