Gabbeh, like many other types of Persian rugs is made with local hand-spun wool and vegetable dye. The KPSI (knot per square inch) is around 50. The foundation of authentic Persian Gabbeh is wool, so Gabbeh is a wool on wool rug. Since there are no chemicals and synthetics involved in its material and dye, it is fair to say that Gabbeh is a natural, weaver and user-friendly rug. Natural dye and fine local wool with long fibers make the wool lustrous. Although tribal and rural, the abstract and cubist designs of Persian Gabbeh look so modern they match the interior of today's homes.

Customer Reviews
Overall Rating: 5
We love the rug. It has thicker pile than expected, and the variation in wool colors from dark blue to black add to its handmade quality. We've seen other rugs like this one that look factory made and have thinner pile for more $. Not this one though. Well worth it. Its a rug we'll have forever.
