Story Behind the Art

The foundation of authentic Persian Gabbeh is wool, so Gabbeh is a wool-on-wool rug. Since there are no chemicals or synthetics involved in its material and dye, it is fair to say that Gabbeh is a nature-, weaver- and user-friendly rug. Natural dye and fine local wool with long fibers make the wool lustrous. Although tribal and rural in origin, the abstract and cubist designs of Persian Gabbeh look so modern they match the interior of today's homes.
