Asunta Pelaez says, "I have been dedicated to this art form since I was young. I learned to design and paint and the craft won me over, offering me tremendous gratification. My tools consist of simple brushes, hammers, nails and glue. I use India ink, tempera paints and purpurina, a natural dye. I shape wood into pleasing forms, then cut glass and fill the outline with beautiful Cajamarcan patterns. To finish, I glue glass to wood and apply golden paint to the frame borders.

Customer Reviews
Overall Rating: 4
This mirror is not red, its more of a burnt orange color. Pretty mirror, not something that you would easily find in a department store. I like it.
The mirror is not very thick, which is ok but I had assumed it would be a heavier mirror. The red is more of a tomato red than a wine red. It is very pretty, but it is hard to discern the exact shade of red from the picture. I just thought that others might like to know more about the specific shade. I like the mirror very much and would certainly recommend this item and other Novica items. I've seen other Novica items in brick-and-mortar stores and have noticed that they are always quite beautiful and well-crafted.
