This Ming Dynasty style jewelry box was crafted by artisans in the Guangdong province of China using classic Chinese mortise and tenon floating panel joinery and finishing techniques. The compartment is lined with fine taupe felt, with a removable felt ring tray.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Bought it as a 30th birthday gift for my son. We were both really struck by the handsomeness of this item. The size is perfect not to be a cumbersome decorative item, but roomy enough to hold a number of odds and ends as well as jewelry, papers etc.. Well crafted. The small key is lovely and the lock works well. All in all a perfect gift; I would add that the dark wood make it more of a "masculine" item. Great product.

This is a very gorgeous piece of craftmanship. Bought it for my wife for christmas and am very satisfied, so is she. I looked at a lot of other products out there and this seemed to be the best buy, If you are thinking of getting this, do it.
