Long Life Wall Plaque (China)
Add old world charm to any room with this Chinese Long Life wall plaque.
The plaque was fashioned after a Ming dynasty style Chinese calligraphy wall plaque. The piece expresses wishes for a long and healthy life. This piece was hand-crafted using traditional Chinese joinery and finishing techniques by artisans in Guangdong province, mainland China. The plaque is topped off with a hand-rubbed medium rosewood finish.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

The rosewood plaque looks great from a distance & appears to be of higher quality. The brass hanger adds authenticity to the piece.

It was very nice indeed, although I truly wish that it could have been a tad bit larger.

The piece was ok. It looks a bit cheap, at first glance I thought it was plastic and priced to high. It was smaller than I expected. I framed it and it made all the difference. It didn't have any presence by itself.

Lovely, well made piece. Enhances Asian theme nicely. Although I knew its size when I made the purchase, for the money, I would like to have had one a bit larger. Overall, pleased with the plaque.

I was very pleased with quality of this product and i used it in a wall grouping that really made it pop. You can't go wrong on this one!
