This piece was hand-crafted using traditional Chinese joinery and finishing techniques by artisans in Guangdong province, mainland China. The plaque is topped off with a hand-rubbed medium rosewood finish.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. I have been into Asian decor since 1980 and have many pieces. This wall plaque is beautiful, well made and goes with my rosewood furniture very well. I would highly recommend it if you like this type of home decoration. The only problem that I have is that the price is too high.
The piece was ok. It looks a bit cheap, at first glance I thought it was plastic and priced to high. It was smaller than I expected. I framed it and it made all the difference. It didn't have any presence by itself.

Lovely, well made piece. Enhances Asian theme nicely. Although I knew its size when I made the purchase, for the money, I would like to have had one a bit larger. Overall, pleased with the plaque.
