Story Behind the Art:

Isle Applegryn started making candles in her home in Bredasdorp in 1994 with the skill, equipment and inspiration left to her by her Aunt Jo. The candles were in high demand by the local gift stores, so she hired four local women to help make them. Today they are shipped to all parts of the world. She called her company Kapula Candles, after saying, 'I am making a couple of candles'. As the company grew, she moved into an old barn that was renovated into the candle factory and she hired more local women. The skill involved in decorating the candles is highly specialized and the painters are trained for over three months to perfect their skills. Today they employ over 200 local workers. There are many variations to each pattern, so you will receive a variation of the pattern shown in the picture.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
