Story Behind the Art:
These products are embroidered and sewn by Afghan refugees who have been able to create these pieces in refugee camps located in Pakistan. They all are unique and use the kandahari stitches technique. Regarding kandahari stitches, which are locally known as khomak dozi, this is one of the most famous and identifiable Afghan stitches. It's a counted stitch used in more formal, symmetrical designs like tablecloths.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

I bought both the black and the tan tunics for myself and then ordered a second pair of size small for a friend. They are made of fine wool, in subtle colors with lovely matching embroidery and contrasting lining. The fit is flattering and comfortable over pants. I think the tunic makes a modest elegant top.
