From the mid 19th-century onward, Mahal rugs were exclusively made for the European market. They often favored the bold floral designs with spacious patternes. All rugs from this period were exclusively made with pure and natural dyes. Dark red, blue, soft green, gold, and ivory are the typical colors. Besides using wide and bold borders, Mahal rugs had designs based on small repeating floral patterns as well as all-over large scale lattice vine patterns.

This rug is beautiful and looks even better than the photo. It is well made and looks great in my bedroom. A great buy for the money.
I was searching for a rug combining blue and brown in a traditional pattern and this really fills the bill. Color is not as ivory as the photo indicates, but more of a golden brown but that works very well in my space. It is actually in my kitchen between the sink and a prep island.. and the thickness and softness under my feet is wonderful. And since it is wool and cotton it will clean/wash very easily. I'm really happy with it and would highly recommend it. And I have to mention that it arrived very quickly....Overstock is the best!!!
The workmanship is great and the rug is good quality. My only complaint is that the color is not the same as online. It is not light blue, but more green/blue and the accents are much yellower than I had expected. Disappointed but am keeping it anyhow.
