Story Behind the Art:

Heriz rugs are very famous worldwide for their own very unique style. The inspiration came from the religious landmarks in the region. Their most famous design consists of a diamond or star floral medallion with eight petals in the center and corners. These corners are sometimes square or rectangular. The pattern is almost always geometric, and the background is very crowded, although some, mostly older rugs, have a plain background. Today, the Heriz style is copied in India, Pakistan, China and Romania.
