Recycled Silk/Hemp Roll Up Hat (Nepal)

I got this hat about a month ago. When I received it, it had this weird musty smell that immediately gave me a headache. I aired it out and wore it a bunch. It was AWESOME at first! It has now stretched out sooo much that I feel like I'm wearing a giant jellybean on my head! I dunno what to do 'cause the has says "dry clean only." Another reviewer said it shrinks in the wash- I may give it a shot.... BUT, The colors in the hat are AWESOME. It is a tad scratchy but not too bad at all.

I enjoy purchasing unusual international items for gifts, especially if it helps people to a better economy. I wanted to return the hat but that was not an option. The problem was two-fold. Firstly, this wonderful recycled silk, though beautifully colorful, was "fuzzy/fraying" on the edges and would become more so with wear. This might not be a problem except the person I bought it for is very neat and would not wear it if it seemed untidy. Secondly, I saw the exact same hat on a stand at my local mall for a cheaper price. Disappointing.

The hat is a must----especially for those who wear dreads.......lovin; it!!!!!!!

It might be ok for a 3 year old except that it's too scratchy. I bought it for myself, but we used it for our snowman instead.

This is a really cute hat, very colorful, and actually kinda versatile. I have really short hair and it fits nicely. I did notice that all previous reviewers said they washed theirs, however, the tag says, "dry clean" only. It has a very European look, real cute and very roomy, fitted at the band.
