Story Behind the Product
This table was carved by master craftsman Olu of Foase, Ghana. The name 'Ohene' is a Ghanaian name for chief. The chief is the pillar and a symbol of strength and wisdom in the community. Olu mentors many new carvers. He is deeply involved in his local community and supports a large extended family.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

This is a small table or stand and just what we needed to put by a low armchair. Perfect for a drink, a book, or your glasses! There are several designs from Ghana. We picked this one because the base is big enough to give it stability on low pile (Berber type) carpet. IIt is lightweight, the colors are as depicted and it fits well into our contemporary seating arrangement.As small tables seem quite expensive for what you get, we found this piece within reason.Arrived quickly, in perfect condition, in a sturdy box. Thnks Overstock! We have been pleased with all of our purchases from you.
I am an artist as well that likes tribal art and knowing my purchase helps them continue their artistic traditions, keeping them alive and well. I Love Ghanian artstuff, masks, etc. But this is my first table..was a little nervous and when I saw on the tracking, it was like one Lb....????....it is a very strong but light wood and very well made. The red is more sanguine. A steal at this price...may buy another.
