Each doll is handmade by Maya women from Southern Belize who work for an effort that is mission-driven. Its mission is to provide income to Maya women, build their self-esteem and independence, and support the continuation of their traditional hand skills. The women who make these dolls are eager to work and make each doll with care, love and in the hope it will help her create for a better life for their families. Most of the money these women earn is spent on their children's education or food for the family.
