These beautiful tapestries are one of the traditional art pieces created by the Chinese minority known as Miao people who live in the Southwestern part of China. In this region of China there are many high mountains and historically it has been isolated, hence the Miao people have developed their own unique art and culture separate from the Chinese majority known as Han. Wax-dyed tapestry is one of the well known crafts to come from this. The patterns and methodology used in creating these tapestries has been passed down from generation to generation. I love this tapestry and I placed it above the headboard of my bedroom. It gives the feelings of peace and joy whenever I look at it. I wil keep it there for a long long time.
