50 year old Lajwanti is an award winning craftswomen who has made a name for herself weaving exquisite scarves, shawls, saris, cushion-covers, bed-covers and more. She has exhibited her work not only in Indian cities, but in foreign countries like South Africa and Indonesia as well. Her family has been in the cloth since business before The Partition of India. When her father settled in India from Pakistan he picked up the traditional cloth business and passed it on to his children. Today Lajwanti is helped in her weaving business by her entire family, including her husband, her mother-in-law, her three unmarried daughters and two sons.
She says she can make the silk scarves in two. When she participates in any handicrafts fair in India she often demonstrates to the buyer how the scarves and other item are woven. Thanks to buyers like you, Lajwanti continues in this trade successfully.

I purchased the blue scarf and it is really quite beautiful, even prettier in person than on the website as you can really see the details. I wear it with my new London Fog Trench/Raincoat that I also recently purchased at Overstock.com, they work wonderfully together.

The shawl does not look like the picture. I sent it back as it was not an attractive item.

nice item, my only problem was that it was listed as cream and yellow, and there was very little yellow. instead I would list as cream and tan .
