The Story Behind the Product

Yogesh Kakkar is a Delhi based artisan who makes white opal pendants and other jewelry items. It has been a family business for him. His father settled in New Delhi after India's Independence in 1947. ?Our ancestors were in this profession. My father learned from his father and so on,? he says. Yogesh credits himself for expanding his families business. Besides the opal pendant he makes all sorts of jewelry items with or without semi-precious stones. He says it can take over a day to make one pendant. He lives with his wife and two school going daughters.

pendant is nice not sure if the opal is synthetic or real. Silver is very thin on pendant. All and all nice, petite, necklace.

The necklace was smaller than I thought it would be. Also, I think the chain is a bit gawdy. I think the jewel would be more noticeable with just a plain silver chain. I hadn't noticed the links in the picture or I probably wouldn't have ordered the necklace.

I was a bit unsure about what to expect when I ordered this, but very happy when I received it. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch. In truth, the picture doesn't quite do it justice. The whole pendant isn't very large, but the size and the quality of the opal really makes up for it. It doesn't look small and 'runty' (which is what I was afraid of). The silver is very nicely worked and very pretty. I now plan on buying the earrings to match.

I thought that it was a very good purchase for the price. I thought it was nice and I loved the clasp. I purchased for myself because opal is my birthstone and i was very happy with this product.
