Tea Jar Oriental Lamp (China)

Add the charming illumination of the Tea Jar Oriental Lamp to your decor and cast your home in a whole new light.

This lovely lamp has been crafted by artisans in the Guangdong province of mainland China. The lamp body is a Ming dynasty style recreation of an antiqued blue and sage tea jar, decorated with on two sides with Chinese calligraphy. An off-white satin shade and carved wooden base complete the design. The lamp includes a UL approved three-way switch, wiring, and a plug.

The Story Behind the Product

This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

This lamp is an understated, elegant beauty! The proportions are excellent; the shade alone is a great value. The only, tiny thing that might take away from the lamp's appearance is the overly shiny hardware--otherwise, this is a total gem.

The lamp arrived looking just the way I expected it to from the picture on the website, and it was extremely well packed, so nothing broke and the lampshade did not get bent. It looks and feels like a quality made piece, and for the price was a good deal.

This is a very nice lamp. The height of the lamp is 24" high, not the 27" as stated. Workmanship is good. The color of the edges are blue and the surface color is more light brown with brown speckels with a ting of sage. However, the colors are very complimentary.

Great piece! I've gotten nothing but compliments. Great lampshade. One thing: in the picture, it looks green, but it is actually blue, and that's a good thing.
