Coming from the African Heritage collection, this item has been carved in intricate detail by master craftsman Kwesi Asante of Awhiaa, Ghana. He employs scores of carvers in his village enterprise. He has helped to provide education for many village children with the income from his business. Kwesi's signature symbol has been carved on both sides of the stool. I bought one and was thrilled at the prospect of receiving it. I have had it hidden in a corner because it is crooked and tips forward. Very disappointed

Pleased with this item; however, be sure to check the sizing. We are using this stool as a footstool, so the small size is perfect for our needs. It is not large enough to use as seating.
This Stool was very nice.. But it wasn't exactly what I had expected. The stool was extremely low to the ground. My 5 year old loves it!! Its too small to even ask guests to sit on. I was quite disappointed. The photos make it appear as if it would higher off the ground. The detail is nice, but the wood is not solid. I'm even afraid to use it as a step stool? so, I placed it in the corner in my room. I actually should return it, because I have no real use for it because its too small to do anything except place it in a corner...? Only nice thing is that it gives your place an exotic look, so that would be the only reason for me keeping it.
This stool adds an interesting look to my living room. A huge plus is that there is no assembly required. However due to its size (short and not very wide), i would recommend getting two stools if you really are trying to get a proper exotic look, else it will get lost in your space and go unnoticed.
It's a pretty cute stool. I just wish it was a little higher. However, it's pretty compact so it works great by our garage door to take off shoes.
