These 100-percent wool, hand-tufted rugs are made by village weavers from regions within India. These hand-tufted designs are the latest development evolving from hand-knotted rugs and were created after in the style of earlier century-old Persian designs (originated in old Persia, now Iran). The craftsmanship of these expert loomers is carried forward in the family traditions of weaving dense-pile rugs.

Woolen yarn is all virgin wool
It is sourced indigenously in India as well as imported from New Zealand
Woolen yarn is dyed to precise color requirements of the market
Wool is washed and sun-dried to increase the sheen and luster of the wool fibers
Then the wool is tufted on thick, cotton fabric and finished with a durable backing
When completed the rugs are washed and sun-dried (again) and each thread of wool is delicately hand-combed and clipped to bring the sharpness and dexterity of design and colors out in each rug
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.

I purchased this rug for an area that didn't work out, but when I saw what a great value it was, I decided to use it elsewhere. The workmanship is wonderful and I have paid much more for rugs of equal value. You can't go wrong w/this purchase! The only thing I didn't like was that it had a strange odor, but it went away after a few weeks of airing out. I don't think this is unusual w/imports and it is completely gone. It is a heavy rug and lays completely flat. It's quite wonderful!

I have gotten so many rugs at Overstock....this one is one of my favorites. It is extremely soft on the feet and very eye catching. I love it. The only thing is that it had a very bad smell. But I just unrolled it and let it air out and the odor went away in about a week. Thanks Overstock.com
Perfect rug for a fantastic price! The colors are very rich and the muted ivory and browns are great for my front hallway. Nice transition covering from hardwood to my carpeted bedroom.

The runner is very thick and feels great under my bare feet...exactly what I was hoping for. I was trying to decide whether to expose my heardwood floors or to recarpet so finding a runner that worked for me was the deciding factor. It is so thick and plush that it doesn't slip, so it really doesn't need a pad. It looks exactly like the picture only it appears a bit darker in my hall that has little natural light. That would be my only objection to the rug. I only wish there was a small version for the little area that elbows at the end of the hall. Love Overstock!!!
