Artisan story:

Coming from the African Heritage collection, this item has been carved in intricate detail by master craftsman Kwesi Asante of Awhiaa, Ghana. He employs scores of carvers in his village enterprise. He has helped to provide education for many village children with the income from his business. Kwesi's signature symbol has been carved on both sides of the stool. Add this conversation piece to your collection and help an African community thrive.

lovely little stool, ornamental only, too short to actually use to sit on, although it would work as a footstool.

From the picture, this item looked like a full size Asanti stool, and I already have an Asanti uch stool got directly from Ghana many years ago. The original Ghana Asanti stool is heavy solid wood and is almost double in size than the one I received from overstock. I was very disappointed as it is very light and tiny and looks like a toy next to my original Ghana Asanti stool.

Great piece to add to my Lodge. I have an African themed Lodge on a lake, and it really adds a nice dimension. Having ordered things from Africa after a safari, this was way easier and faster!!!
