Story Behind the Art:

Claudio Bravo is an Argentine who began working in handicrafts while traveling in Brazil. 'I traveled a great deal through the country and met a tribal chief who presented me with a net of buriti, a marshland palm tree. The fiber did not irritate my skin like palm fibers, and the chief explained that fibers are treated to makes it appropriate for adornments and furniture. I began to work with buriti, using macrame and craft techniques. Inspired by the ritual dress of Brazil's natives, I began to create bracelets and other accessories. I was discovered by a famous jeweler who had a shop near my home, and now supply her with bracelets.'
