Story Behind the Art:

Takako was born in Kobe, Japan, a cosmopolitan city and seaport in the island of Hoshu. Growing up in Kobe, Takako recalls listening to punk music and haiku poetry. In 1995 Takako moved to Bali, lured by the quietness and cultural intensity of the island. Her designs incorporate traditional patterns from Japan and Indonesia, under modern stylizations.
