This product was created in North Western India. Once the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40s a majority of the industries available for the local economy disappeared with them. People went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. Several hub cities of industry have flourished, creating numerous, sustainable, and stable jobs for the people of the surrounding villages, to augment the time in between harsh growing seasons.

The bar stools are great - just like the pictures!
Well I received the shipment quick, however the company that delivered them (2 boxes, 4 chairs) delivered one box that looked pretty jacked up. I was worried that it may have damaged my chairs. The counter stools were packaged so well that there was no damage to the shipment. So I was happy that Overstock took the time to package each stool as well as they did. The leather is pretty tough and feels coated or something. It's thick leather, I would've preferred a softer leather. The leather reminded me of those Mexican sandals "Huaraches" that you buy in Mexico that are made of a stiff leather. I'm sure as time passes the leather will soften. I guess I'd much rather have them be thick leather than a cheap thin leather. One of the concerns is that the legs are pretty thin metal and the back 2 legs are not connected with a metal bar across the back. I'm concerned that one of my hefty friends or family members might sit on them and cause the legs to bend like in "Shallow Hal" when she broke the metal chair. Other than that I love the look of the stools and look forward to using them in my newly remodeled kitchen around the island.
I am a faithful Overstock customer, and these chairs are just another reason why. The chairs are very sturdy, even though in the picture and in person, the iron frame looks as thin as a spider web. The leather weave of the seat and seat-back are made of the most gorgeous natural looking leather, and they are truly comfortable to sit in. You will NOT regret purchasing these chairs.
We are very pleased with our Eyela Stools and with Overstock.com. We purchased these stools as extra stools for when we have company. They are comfortable, very good looking, and stackable when not in use. They came securely packaged, and the most difficult part was that it took about 3/4 hour to get all the bubblewrap off the 2 stools. Bottom line we are very happy with our purchase and would definitely use overstock.com again.

They arrived on time and were much better looking than the pictures and very comfortable. They were well packed and already assembled. The only problem was it took at least 30 minutes to get all of the bubble wrap off. A good problem to have! I have received many compliments on these stools and they look terrific in my kitchen. I highly recommend these counter stools! Excellent value.
