Elephant Soap Stone Aroma Candleholder Statue (India)

Add a touch of India to your decor with this Elephant Soap Stone Aroma lamp.

Handmade with true Indian craftsmanship, the elephant aroma lamp features an intricately carved elephant and a little bowl to place liquid incense or potpourri. Simply place a candle in the elephant and the candle will heat the bowl and its contents, creating a lovely aroma.

It is said that keeping a carving of an elephant with its trunk up in the house or work place brings tranquility, peace, and good luck. Elephants in India are the essence of service and faithfulness. They are considered a blessed race and are part and parcel of many auspicious occasions in India.

The Story Behind the Product

32 year old Santosh Gupta learned stone carving from his father, who started the business. Watching his father work, Santosh decided very early that he wanted to work on stones and carve them into beautiful gift items. He began helping his father in making the soapstone gift items and today he can make anything on order. The soapstone elephant candle holder can take over a day to make. He looks forward to exhibiting his wares in handicraft fairs where his work is noticed by foreigners, who are his primary customers.
He supports a small family of three, consisting of his wife and his one year old son. His wife, Preeti, helps him with any painting that is done on the soapstone items. They hope you will enjoy their work.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in color and sizing. Subtle shade variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements are approximate.

I bought it as a gift for my brothers desk and he was so pleased. He receives comments daily! I need to purchase more of these charming aroma therepy figurines for christmas and one for myself! I received it very soon after my order and it was here in time for his birthday! TY OVERSTOCK!!!!!!!!!

I collect elephants and this is something I have not seen anywhere else. The workmanship is very good but the base is a little off, probably because it is hand crafted. I just have to adjust it a bit. It's lovely and unusual and certainly a work of art. I'm very happy with it.
