The Story Behind The Art

Oriental alabaster has been crafted in Egypt since ancient times, into works of art and utilitarian items. Handcrafting alabaster continues to be an art among many artisans. The availablility of marble, granite and a myriad of other stones has made Egypt a center for marble workmanship for thousands of years.

What is Worldstock?

Alabaster products are manufactured by hand, using alabaster from every commercial quarry in Egypt. Alabaster is a natural, translucent marble which can vary in color from a clear lemon color to a rich shade of mango orange or even a very light cafe au lait. Each piece will be unique and variation from the photo should not be considered a flaw.
