The Story of Thai Tribal Crafts:

Traditionally, the tribal people in northern Thailand have supported their families through slash and burn agriculture, being forced to move their villages every few years searching for new and fertile fields. Based on ecological criteria, the Thai government is banning the timber cut down, trim, and hauling on the hillside lands. Aiming to market products made by these wonderful people, and improve their quality of, in the Baptist Christian Service Foundation sponsored the creation of the 'Thai Tribal Crafts' in 1973. They strive to preserve the traditional arts and crafts of tribal people.

Not exactly what I thought I was getting. In the photo it appears to be displayed on a dining room table but it is very small and I had to use it on an end table. Pretty and bright but not a table runner for a dining room.
