Story Behind the Art:
'When I heard that finding a job in northern Thailand was easier compared to my modest village, I set off to see after getting my high school certificate. The idea of working with textiles came about after visiting a silk shop. Such a wide range of beautifully colored, intricate cloth patterns mesmerized me. I bought some cloth to make myself a dress. With the scrap pieces I made a few cushions and gave them to a friend, who liked them surprisingly so much, that she wanted to buy some to give to her friends. So it started, making clothes, wall hangings, table runners, cushion covers and various items with beautiful, diverse silk and cotton. I became enthralled with the whole process, I was doing something I loved doing and it was starting to bring in an income. Eventually I was able to sufficiently support my two children and had enough money left over to send some to my parents, brother and sister.'

I love Overstock.com. I ordered this purse because I thought the color was nice, and it was a good value. It is, and they described it well. The only improvement I would have made would have been an added outside pocket for a phone. Thanks Overstock.com.
This bag is very cute and a great value. I got many compliments on it and my sister threatened to steal it from me, because she wanted it. It also is nice to know it's from Nat Geo and your helping an artist in another contry. However, it only had one zip up pocket. I wish it had more pockets for like a cell phone or lipstick. It's pretty well made but one of my kids pulled on it when it was on my shoulder and the stich work on the handel is starting to come undone. Also I had a little mishap on my wallet falling out randomly because it only has a little button to hold it close I ended up getting a new purse but I still like this one very much and use it to carry random things in.It has it's pros and cons but it your really looking for somthing unique this is a pretty good choice.
Simple bag. Artistic. Very pretty. Sewn well. Nice to use for vacation books, swim wear... Has only one small zippered inside pocket, so it has limited uses.The card that came with the bag shows it was made by a Thai artist in partnership with the National Geographic.
My sister loves this gift that overstock.com shipped for me. I haven't yet seen it in person, but she loves the colors, the weave & everything else about it! It also arrived promptly for her birthday.
I recently purchased this bag with a giftcard my friend had given me. I absolulty adore the colors! The bag matches with almost everything in my wardrobe and makes a great summer tote. The material is sturdy and can be fully stuffed with anything from make up to clothes to bottles of soda (for the beach). After looking at the price for the first time I doubted if the bag would actually be worth what it costs, after all it is a little bit on the pricey side, but when i received the bag in the mail I found that the quality of the bag was completely satisfactory. However, it does look somewhat bigger than it really is in the picture and was smaller than I expected. DO NOT FORGET TO READ THE "DETAILS" SECTION FOR THE MEASUREMENTS! Overall this is a very nice bag and i would recommend it to anyone who wants cute and sturdy at the same time.
