Story Behind the Art

'I am Krittaya Sirisukprasert but you can call me Mam. I was born the Prae province of Thailand. Today I live with my husband in Baan Khwan Viang. I have a bachelor's degree in fine art, and was a kindergarten art teacher for a year after graduation. I now enjoy working with the blue cloth known as mohom, dyed with indigo. Mohom is used for shirts and blouses in farming communities, but my idea was to design more than only clothing. I hope to become a master of mohom.

. I'd like to show my designs to the whole world and change the Thai people's attitude toward this cloth. I hope that people will become aware of the indigo tree's usefulness.'
