    Story Behind The Art

    These items are made in a small studio in the North of Israel in a town called Tivon. The studio is owned by Avihu Zur- a master craftsman, painter, organic farmer, gourmet chef, and father of five. Avihu's studio employs many talented jewelers including Bedouin women who come from nearby Arab villages. Avihu sells to fine galleries on four different continents. The silver used in this jewelry is 90-percent recycled and the 2,000 year old roman glass shards are also recycled. Due to the recent war in Israel the economy is depressed. Making these items for Overstock.com helps these jewelers maintain their studios and feel connected to the larger world at an isolating time.
