The Story Behind the Table

The power and presence of the Inca Empire is subtly reflected in this hand-crafted accent table. Using traditional tools, the Rios Family embosses ancient designs onto fine leather, as the material's rugged texture complements energetic symbols. Jose Antonio Rios and his family have been dedicated to the traditional art of carving and embossing leather furniture for several generations. This activity was embraced by Jose Antonio's grandparents, with the same devotion and caring dedication, using the same technique to produce hand-crafted items bearing their own unique touch.

I love this little table! If you pay close attention to the dimensions and are looking for a table this size, you will love it too. The workmanship is exquisite and imaginative. I love the look of it. The leather looks more like wood to me, but I understand that the leather has been dried out to the point that it is very tough, so as to (hopefully) last a long time. I have a plant on it, but for a long while (got it several months ago), had nothing on top of it, as the art on top is so interesting. One of my favorite of (many) O'Stock purchases!

Very happy with the selection; the only issue is the size of the item- smaller than I thought- should not be described as a TABLE, it is more likely a FOOTSTOOL
