Clementina Jewelry Box (China)

This box is beautiful, it's well made and my daughter would have loved it. We lost her on Feb 27th to a head on collision, and her car caught on fire. She used to be a model, I am in the jewelry business, so she had lots of jewelry. We are using it right now as a memorial box because she loved beautiful things and I couldn't bear to put her in something from the funeral home. I miss her so much, the box gives me comfort just looking at the beautiful mop inlay, I know My Wendy loves this Box too. We bought the white one, but I'm sure the remaining boxes are just as well made.

This box is out of this world. There are so many little details to admire, from the red design on the red silk of the interior to the humming bird and branches paninted on the top, to the way the gold paint catches the light.. It is my favorite jewelry box that I have ever had.

I received three of these, shipped across the country as well as to the country. They were packaged very well and suffered no damage, however, the ring spaces on the sides have wasted space under them and the mother of pearl on the outside is glued on and not very well glued either, as glue shows on the sides of the pieces that are glued on and while it looks flat in the picture it is not flat but has the pieces glued on sticking up, not inlaid. The inside is cheaply made and there are rough enough edges on the fastner that you could be cut on them. In all for the price they are fairly large and heavy but not made that well, and not worth that much money.
