Story Behind the Art

These beautiful tapestries are one of the traditional art pieces created by the Chinese minority known as Miao people who live in the Southwestern part of China. In this region of China there are many high mountains and historically it has been isolated, hence the Miao people have developed their own unique art and culture separate from the Chinese majority known as Han. The patterns and methodology used in creating these tapestries has been passed down from generation to generation. Selling through WorldStock allows the Miao people to keep this ancient art form alive.

Very poor fabric quality - quite thin. . hanging with rod looks ridiculous. May work with frame. But not much of an artwork to frame. If fabric longer, may do for a pareo at the beach.
