Chinese Handmade Ashema Tapestry (China)

This wonderful tapestry sings with its outstanding grace. The background is especially intriguing, soft brown imagery against black. But Ashema herself steals the show! Lovely blues and greens form and exotic headdress. To see more of the Miao people's work, look through the wall hangings for tapestries with pretty tassels. The Miao people are an ethnic tribe in Southwestern China, as opposed to the Han majority. They are know for their outstanding textile craftsmanship. What a joy to find some available here! Easy to hang.

This is a very detailed item and will be a great present even though it was a little pricey

I was disappointed on this one. The photo makes this look so much better than it actually does. I was not happy with the colors, especially in the fringe trim as it clashed with the colors in the painting. I will be returning this one. Just not what I was wanting.

This tapistry is very nice. The color is not a blue as I thougt if would be. But it is very pretty. I have it over my bed. The back ground looks like black on line, but is actually a deep plum. You will have to get a dowl to hang it, but we just rolled some cording around the end of a dowl and hot glued some tassles on the end. Then ran the cording over the top to hang it from. Looks like it was purchased that way. My husband loves it. Our bedspread is gem tone and this brings out some of the blues in it. I would recomend this if you want to put a flair of Asian in your decore and want a touch of blue

This piece is very colorful with bright blues and turquoise, greens and browns. I am happy with the colors but it did not fullfill my wishes to use it as a centerpiece for my room, although I am currently using it as such. It seems to need something to accent it, (a large frame, which would take away from the original fringed bottom) or some other pieces of like origin, which I haven't found yet. All in all it is unique and colorful, I just need some similar pieces to finish what I started.
