Artfully woven Sino Needlepoint rug traces its design origin to 13th century France
Rug design is carved and produces very deep, well-defined images
Tapestry design adorned the palaces of royalty
Rug features red border with a dark green background and accents of ivory, gold, peach and blue

Story Behind the Art:

Although they adorned the palaces of royalty, they were made in a humble building previously used as a soap factory. Hence the trade name 'Savonnerie' rugs, from the French word for soap. As the rug ages, the colors mellow and produce a very warm feel.
