Ceramic Sunflower Fiesta Octagonal Flowerpot (Mexico)
This handmade creation is offered in partnership with NOVICA, in association with National Geographic.
- Banded by borders of cobalt blue, sunflowers bloom in a fiesta of color, their bright petals nestled amid emerald leaves
- The Castillo Family hand-paints the blossoms on a handsome flowerpot
- Octagonal flowerpot is crafted in the style of Talavera pottery
- Clay is cast in molds
- The piece is fired, then submerged in glaze
- Once dry, the elaborate patterns are sketched and painstakingly painted by hand
- Finally, the pot is high-fired for six hours to achieve a glassy finish
- Although true Talavera is produced only in the city of Puebla, the Talavera-style ceramics crafted in Dolores Hidalgo are recognized the world over
- Measures 8.5 inches in diameter x 6.3 inches high

The pots were beautiful and unique, however I didnt look closely at the description and discovered when I received them that they are actually quite small, not a terribly good bargain for overstock.
