Some 70 years ago several fishing families moved from Madura to Java's Eastern coast because of the profusion of sea life there. During stormy weather they would mend their nets and make handicrafts. Capiz shells, or Jingle Oysters, grow like weeds in shallow sea beds. Before the fishermen got creative, capiz shells were only collected for the meat and the shells were discarded. Now nothing is wasted and they employ the shells in crafts such as these wind chimes.

The product is a good product; but, a little expensive given the materials that were used in construction. If I had saw the product in person, I would not have paid this much for it.
I ordered this for a gift for my mother. As soon as I got it in and opened it up to view it, I turned right back around and shipped it back to overstock. This was VERY cheaply made and did not look as nice in the picture as it does in real life. It was not worth the money, it was more of a 5.00 wind chime! not worth it.
Love the chimes, they sound so lovely. Has been very windy @ my house & they r still hanging in there. I have wanted something like these for a long time, glad I got them.
I love them. They make the prettiest sound , and the movement just shimmers in the sun. I would reccomend these to anyone I know who loves capiz shells. Thank You for selling such a great product.

I loved the wind chimes and I gave one away as a gift. They loved them too. The sound is lovely, calming and they appear to be well constructed and durable. The colors are pretty and they make me happy when I hear them.
