In ancient China, before the invention of modern mirrors, bronze hand mirrors with beautifully decorated backs were used in daily grooming rituals. A bronze mirror has two sides, a reflective side and a decorative back side. Dating back 4000 years, these intricate mirror-back designs reveal distinctive ancient artistry and a significant cultural heritage.

These wonderful mirror-back designs incorporate more than beauty and simple decoration, however, as each exotic pattern contains deeper meaning. The Dragon and the Phoenix design, inside its harmonious circle, represent a balance of Yang and Yin, or male and female energy.

The intriguing decorative side of the bronze mirrors are reproduced in resin, protected beneath glass, and set into a 16.5 x 16.5 inch resin frame (depth 1.25").

In the Zhejiang province of China, located in the south-eastern part of China, a group of art school graduates formed their own workshop. They now create unique wall d¿cor inspired by traditional Chinese art and culture, bringing these traditional elements into our daily lives. This product got great reviews. What am i missing? There is NO mirror. It's also cheap. The back hinge is too close to the top which makes the hanging hardware visible. I would not recommend it.

The medallion piece actually looks like old bronze which is very pretty. The framing job is better than average quality, although the liner is probably not what I would have picked. However, as an accent piece I have gotten a lot of compliments on it and it goes really nicely with the oiled bronze hardware in my bath.

This is a great piece of art! It is in a shadowbox type of frame, so is 3-dementional. I did one of my rooms in these colors and the picture was true to life and I was not dissapointed. This is a quality piece and I love it.
