Story Behind the Art

My name is Yumiko. I was born in Japan but I've lived in Bali since 1990. Balinese art and culture have become close to my life. I felt a challenge to make something different from what was being sold in local markets. After experimenting for some time with various kinds of leather sandals and satin bags, I decided to create beaded batik bags that are attractive as they are functional. My handbags carry the beauty of traditional Japanese floral patterns.
