These items are manufactured in various villages in Central Java. Each village specializes in a particular craft and style. An item can also move between various villages as each specialist puts his or her talents to add value to the raw material and then the product in its particular stage of production. There will be approximately 60 people employed to manufacture your goods. The product is made from various tropical woods depending on the dryness and size needed for the piece itself.

I love this chair. It has made my daughter much more independent in the kitchen b/c now she can reach anything. It's sturdy as a ladder and comfortable as a chair.
This chair is solidly built and serves its purpose as boh seating and ladder perfectly. I particularly love that it arrives completely assembled. The only surprise was that the finish is a bit more "rustic" than I anticipated, with artificially worn areas. I still like it, but if you are looking for a chair that has a brand new look, this may not work for you.
I am using this in my walk in closet. It looks nice and is easy to use.
I was looking for a chair to match my kitchen's shabby chic black and white theme and then saw this one. It works perfectly. It came in one piece, without a need to assemble. It's a sturdy piece of furniture.
I was looking for a step stool for a library/wine cellar that would be functional, yet fit the feel of our library. This piece is perfect. I have a very old black secretary cabinet from china in the room and this has the same feel of that piece, with rubbed off edges...it looks like it has been in our family for generations. I love it.We have chosen to leave it in an open position near one of the tall bookcases, and it looks great. The idea that we have additional seating is a bonus.
