We bought this Aztec Calendar after our trip to Cozumel. We saw and priced many while in Mexico, and even with bargaining, could not get the vendors to sell one for under $300 for this size. I was a little leary ordering it online without seeing the exact one we were getting. They are all hand painted and just a little bit different. Ours is absolutely perfect. The quality is the best I have seen! The colors are brilliant with no flaws or chips whatsoever! The photos don't do it justice. It is a beautiful piece of artwork and was very well packed in styrofoam to prevent any damage. The intricate detail is superb! You won't be sorry with this one!

This is not my first version, of the Aztec Calendar. I currently have around four (4) , in my collection. By far, this particular one is the most colorful. Which means I like it most. I've seen much larger versions of this calendar (constructed of wood), in commercial areas, both in Mexico & the U.S. I was very happy to see that Overstock.com had this item for sale. I bought two (2) calendars, so that I can present one to a family member as a gift. I would truly recommend this item.

Nicely crafted piece of art. I love the bright colors and attention to detail. It was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. A nicely printed legend of all the symbols was also included. I framed the legend and have them both hanging in my crafting room.

As a collector of Mexican artifacts and replicas I was immediately drawn to the Aztec Calendar. I was hoping for the best but could not have been more delighted in my purchase. The Aztec Calendar is beautifully represented, beautifully produced and is a real work of art in and of itself. The only drawback was that no wall hanging hardware was attached or provided.If the Aztec Calendar was produced in a larger, 36 or 40 inch version, I would love to use it as a table top which I would, of course, cover with clear glass.

My partner and I visited the Field Museum in Chicago and fell in love with a beautiful ceramic Aztec calendar. Unfortunately, the $600+ price tag was out of our budget range. I searched the web for a similar item and was delighted to find this one on Overstock. This item is beautiful, hand made, and unique. It is well worth the price. Shipping was fast and the item was very well packaged.
I'd read a previous review that said it looked like plastic . . . I have NO CLUE what that person was talking about.
I don't think you could find a better Aztec calendar for the price. Others around the web are usually stone, ceramic or wood, but only in one color -- this is a very colorful and attractive item.

After just returning from Cancun last night, and seeing how much these can go for not just in Cancun, but other parts of Mexico, as well as on line in other sites, this one on overstock is a really great deal. It is authentic, made in Mexico, with every intricate painted piece of wood.
I highly recommend!

Delightful piece! After reading the other reviews, we decided to purchase and we are very pleased. We even took the enclosed calendar descriiption, framed it, and put it along side the calendar for reference. It is a terrific conversation piece. Very colorful and well made.

After reading all the reviews, I was so excited to get this product. I have several handmade Mexican pieces in my home, and I thought this would be a great addition. The description states, "polished to a high sheen". Okay, I've worked with wood for many years and know what polished wood looks like, and it wasn't this. This acually looks like it has a cheap shiny, almost plastic looking finish on it. It looks nothing like an authentic Mexican item in my opinion, rather more like some cheap, mass producted piece that I honestly wouldn't pay $10 for. I'm glad so many of you were happy with it, but this buyer is sending it right back. Definitely not what I would call authentic looking.

This piece of Aztec artwork is beautiful. The colors are so vibrant. I have it displayed just as you enter my home. It is a real conversation piece. The chart that was included that explains the calendar is worthy of framing.

Thousands of tiny pieces all meticulously painted and glued in place. An astounding piece of art for the price. The colors are very bright and the piece is varnished or laquered to give it a nice finish. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this.

I bought this as a gift for my sister, i wanted to keep it for myself! The pictures do it no justice! The colors are so vibrant, and the craftsmanship is so amazing! The only part that caused a small problem was that it had no hardware, but with a welder as a husband my sister should have no problem figuring something out. I recieved my Aztec Calendar within a week of my purchase. They are out of stock now so i hope the restock so i can get one for myself.

I bought this piece as an anniversary gift for my husband, and he absolutely loves it! We are extremely happy with the craftsmanship, colors, and finishing. This is a lovely piece of decor and it is more than worth the cost. Shipping was a little slower than is usual for Overstock purchases, but it arrived in about 3-4 weeks, very well packaged and in excellent condition.

When in Mexico about 20 years ago I bought an Aztec calendar for $200.00 As with this one it was made of small pieces of various woods meticulously put together to form the calendar. My son had coveted the original so I finally gave it to him about 8 years ago and have looked for a replacement since then.
When this one arrived it was more beautiful than the original. The original was all natural wood but the color on this one brings it to life. I will be sure to tell my other sons where I got this one so they can order there own.

The piece is very colorful, more blue than the picture indidcates, which is what I wanted. The frustration came in that there was no hardware to hand the item so I had to construct my own method.
