The Story Behind the Product

Sumsuddin says, 'I was born in the city of temples, Varanasi, in Northern India. I grew up amidst a rich family tradition of weaving saris, cushion covers, wall hangings, shawls, and scarves. I took the craft from my very boyhood days. We make completely pure silken shawls, scarves, cushion covers, and wall hangings using varying proportions of pure silk of cotton base. The work is done on traditional handlooms that demands not only ample time but complete dedication, to bring out the very best in designs and colors on every piece that we make.'

I purchased this scarf as a birthday present. It arrived within a week and was just exquisite. The quality and workmanship were unsurpassed. Apparently, it was shipped directly from India and even included a handwritten postcard from the man who weaved it. What a nice touch! I am sometimes reluctant to purchase clothing online without first having the opportunity to feel and examine the fabric, size, etc. but I have no regrets with this purchase. I was very tempted to keep this one for myself.
