Art of Liuli Twin Dragon Design Pendant (China)
The ancient Chinese art of Liuli was discovered incidentally about 2500 years ago when Fan-Li, a well-known government official at the time, was making a King's Sword for his emperor. Ever since then, Liuli can only be owned and made for the royal families in China.
- This traditional Chinese knot necklace displays the unique beauty of Liuli with a twin dragon design
- Liuli is well known for its mix of colors and flow of light as it always seems very mystical in its nature
- Liuli Stone is similar in its chemical composition to Crystal and glass, but it is not as clear in its translucency
- Its hardness is similar to that of Jade
- The ancient way of making Liuli is still being used today
- The mixing of colors is done naturally during the process, ensuring that no two Liuli are exactly the same
- Necklace measures approximately 2.6 inches wide x 1 inch high
Historically, Liuli was only to be used by royal families, and few knew how to make it. The mixture of color during the production process is very unpredictable and the failure rate is quite high, causing Liuli¿s prices to remain high. This Liuli was made in the Canton province in southern China. Because it was made using the ancient techninques, the lines and shapes are more refined and detailed as well as a more natural and elegant mixture of colors. Through Worldstock, the traditional method of making this unique material can be preserved even in the face of cheap imitations.

Though different looking, I expected the colors to be more vibrant and the piece to be larger, more substantial. It comes with a small folded up pamphlet written in an Asian language with no translation...not very helpful! I am keeping it because once I get over the disappointment I am sure I will enjoy wearing this unique piece.

I bought this after getting another piece o liuli. For some reason I thought this would be a bit smaller than it is. Its big. I like it though. Its different and I get many compliments on it. It is a unique piece thats fun to wear. Dress it up or down it works either way. If you are at all interested in any of liuli I say buy it. You will be happy!

Pendant is beautiful. I was not expecting the type of cord attached to the pendant, but I am still happy to have it.
