Story Behind the Art

Raquel and Gregor are the Peruvian artists who created this and other one-of-a-kind pieces. 'Our garments carry the name Sillpa, which in ancient Aymara means softness and pleasure.' These artisans enjoy working with natural fibers because it helps preserve the ancient Inca weaving techniques. Each piece starts on a traditional loom and is then finished by hand.
