Story Behind the Art

Handloom fabrics have been woven in India's villages for centuries. Most hand-woven fabrics are made of natural fibers like cotton, wool, silk and jute. These fibers are chosen primarily because they make the fabric 'breathable' and in most cases comfortable for use in clothing and bed linens. The handloom industry continues to this day to sustain many village communities throughout rural India. Allan bedspreads were made in a village 2 hours away from Delhi in the States of Uttar Pradesh.

My husband declares this bedspread the best one we have ever had. It dosen't make him too warm and keeps me just the right temperature for sleep. These spreads ( we have both the red & the blue) also give the bedrooms that POP I keep hearing about. The only problem I am having is finding pillow shams that will compliment the beautiful colors. I recommend these spreads to everyone.
