The Story Behind the Art

NanYang, in the HeNan province of China, is historically famous for its art and unique jade productions. HeNan is located in central China and is considered one of the birthplaces of Chinese art and culture. Red agate, which the Chinese call "red jade", is also considered a blessing stone like jade. With the help of WorldStock local people can still make a living with the traditional craft of jade carving.

The necklace served it's purpose (as a gift), but it was not what I was expecting. This item was a lot large than what it appeared to be in the picture. The necklace has raised detailing that was not noticable in the picture as well.

This is bigger than I had expected and I wish the cord was easier toadjust but it is beautiful. The dragon carved into the moon is exquisite!

I bought this for a friend of mine because this type of necklace is right up her alley. She loves big pendants and she was thrilled when I gave it to her for her birthday. My own gripe though is that despite how very red it appears in the picture online, it looks more brown in person. It's still very beautiful though. Worth the $$

Although I kept the piece (I like the idea behind it), I could barely make out what was on the carving. Maybe if the pendant was larger it would become more clear.
