I do not agree with other reviewers that this only a shawl. Unless you are very large and tall, it is perfect size cover-up (throw) for snuggling under for a catnap or on a journey in car, train, or plane. It is whisper weight, making is so nice to lie under and easy to pack into your carry-on. Of course, it makes a nice shawl as well. No matter what, you'll look fabulous wearing, carrying, or snuggled under it -- the design is beautiful, calming, and still luxurious. I find the pictures on the screen to be very accurate, so maybe someone's computer screen needed adjustment! The colors are drab green and beige with touches throughout the paisley pattern of rose and pink. Without the reddish touches it would have no life in the design: paisley, after all, is meant to be colorful. That being said, It is a paisley design without too much exuberance -- it is understated, delicate, and could not be more elegant. I have purchased 3 of these. One for my bed for naps and display, one for my mother, and one for an elderly aunt. (And believe me, my husband has no problem using the wrap as a throw when the temperature is crisp!) Whoever buys one will also be pleased to find the throw in a gorgeous cloth bag, and no other gift wrap could be nicer!

I read other reviews, so I purchased this as a shawl, not as a throw. It is lightweight, soft, and warm. My only complaint about it is that the color is not what I expected. The green and beige are lovely, but there are very pronounced red accents. After receiving the shawl (and being disappointed by the red) I examined the picture online more closely. You can see that there are some pinkish or reddish accent colors, but the red is much more pronounced in person than in the photo. It's lovely, but I think it would be lovelier if the entire palette were beige and green with maybe lighter pink accents. Oh well, I wear it, stay warm and cozy, and I've even garnered a few compliments.

I agree with other reviews that this is more of a shawl than a throw. But it is very soft and warm and the colors are beautifully subtle. It's perfect over the back of my reading chair, and really just the right size to throw over my legs or around my shoulders (I am only 5'1", though!) The throw came in a pretty gold organza bag that I am going to make into a pillow for the chair, as well. A little bonus that perfectly matches the decor of my room!

I could never have guessed that something so light in weight could be this warm! The quality of fabric is so lovely and soft, nice to touch. This throw is just as functional as it is pretty to look at. I really can't find fault with it!

This is beautiful work and colors are true. The only reason I cannot rate it 5 stars is because, in my opinion, it is a scarf or shawl, not a "wool throw."
